Course topics include: discussion on two common airborne and waterborne disease causing agents in the health care environment: Aspergillus and Legionella, respectively; the evolution of best practice standards for nosocomial infection prevention and control; a detailed examination of the Health Canada Guideline; and a review of actual cases involving a Legionnaire’s outbreak in two Ontario hospitals.
