ACCOMMODATION INFORMATION

Waterloo
Accommodation is available at the Conference Centre located in Ron Eydt Village here on the University of Waterloo campus at a special rate of $45.75/night + taxes for a Single Room and $32.00/person per night + taxes for a Double Room. Reservations can be made when you register online for the conference or online through the Conference Centre website.

Alternatively delegates may take adventage of a 
number of hotels close to the University of Waterloo.

Toronto
There are several reasonable hotels within walking distance of the Hospital for Sick Children.

Massey College is available in the summer and is about a 20 minute walk away. The Metropolitan Hotel and the Delta Chelsea Hotel are both within a 5 to 6 minute walk.

We have a special rate agreement with the Delta Chelsea Hotel for the nights of Tuesday, June 18th and Wednesday, June 19th which is $139.00 per night (single/double rate).  To take advantage of this special rate you must book before May 20, 2013.  You can make a reservation 
online or you can call 1-800-243-5732 within North America or 1-416-595-1975 for International calls.  You must identify yourself as being with the XIV Biennial Meeting of the Child Vision Research Society to get this special conference rate.


TRAVEL INFORMATION TO WATERLOO

Airports
The main international airport is Toronto Pearson International Airport in Ontario, which has the IAFA airport code YYZ. Pearson airport is approximately 100 kilometres from Waterloo, which takes approximately 1 hours to travel by car.

There is also a smaller
Region of Waterloo Interntational Airport which has the IAFA airport code YKF. This airport is approximately 20 kilometres from the University of Waterloo. This currently has flights to and from Chicago O'Hare (American Airlines), Ottawa (Bearskin Airlines) and western Canada (West Jet). A taxi from Region of Waterloo International Airport to the University of Waterloo should cost about $30 CAN.


Airport Transportation - Airways Transit
Airways Transit connects Toronto (Pearson), Hamilton (Munro), and Region of Waterloo Int. Airport with the Kitchener-Waterloo area by providing 24 hour shared ride door-to-door service.

Toronto Pearson Airport
For Toronto Pearson airport transfers we have obtained a reduced conference fare of $58.00 CAN per person, one way, tax included.
  To receive the reduced fare you must book in advance and identify yourself as a CVRS 2013 delegate when making your reservation.  Delegates who have signed up on their conference registration for the bus trip from Waterloo to The Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto will only need to book an arrival with Airways Transit.

Hamilton Airport
1passenger:  $90.00 CAN per person, one way, tax included

Region of Waterloo Int. Airport
1 to 2 passengers:  $52.00 CAN, one way, tax included

Please note that advance reservations are required.  Contact Airways Transit directly to make your reservation either online or by phone (available 24 hours) at 519-886-2121.  When making a reservation online don't forget to enter the booking code CVRS 2013 (enter exactly as shown).

Parking at the School of Optometry & Vision Science
There is a Pay and Display parking lot at the back of the Optometry & Vision Science building (Lot X) which is available to the public.  Please do not park in Lot O or Lot OV at the side of the buiding.  Lot O is not accessible for conference attendees and Lot OV is reserved for patients.  Here is the campus map for clarification.


Visas for Canada
Please note that all United States citizens will require a passport in order to enter Canada. For more information.
