About the conference:

The first day of this event will deliver critical information on the key pillars required for building and strengthening First Nation economies.  This will include an in-depth examination of crucial areas, explaining their best uses as well as their impact on taxation, governance and economic development.  Key areas of discussion include: 1. Recent case law; 2. Business structures; 3. Trusts; 4. Impact benefit agreements; 5. Good governance and community assets; 6. First Nation property tax regimes under the Fiscal Management Act; 7. New governance models, and 8. Tax regimes.

With this solid foundation in place, registrants will then participate in a workshop on how to build a governance structure, or repair an existing one, that will lead to business and economic growth, as well as control over decisions that impact the community.
